The need for timely and precise warehouse management has become increasingly important, especially for businesses handling large quantities of incoming and outgoing goods.
Packway’s Logistics module helps packaging, display and digital printing companies to organise goods in a precise and controlled manner.
What are the aims of this module?
Packway’s Logistics program manages movement units (MU) or storage units (SU) represented by pallets or packages.
You can view a map of your warehouse divided into areas and cells.
Each cell displays which MUs are available, full or reserved (booked for a specific job), compliant or non-compliant.
Each MU identifies an item as either a raw material or finished product.
Tracking goods in the warehouse
Precise control of materials movements
Traceability of production batches

PALLET CONTENT TRACEABILITY IS ESSENTIAL FOR ANY WAREHOUSING OPERATION.
Job traceability
Job traceability is crucial to ensure effective and efficient production through better organisation of goods in, but it is also certificazioni paramount when certifications need to be obtained for food, environmental, and pharmaceutical products, or for the correct management of la product or production process quality assurance systems.
Tracked materials (raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products) can be managed based on job, pallet by pallet.
For job-based tracking, the pallets used for raw materials and finished products can be checked directly by viewing the job.
For pallet-based tracking you can accurately determine which pallets of raw materials were used to produce a specific pallet of finished product and which pallets of finished products were made from which pallet of raw materials. This makes it easier to conduct specific tracing of all materials produced and sold in cases of disputes or non-conformity issues.

Which Tools do you have?
The use of the logistics module requires that you have least one of the following:
● a device that supports a browser (internet explorer, chrome…),
● uno strumento utilizzato in emulazione tastiera con tablet o pc collegato,
● a device that supports a terminal server that can connect remotely to a desktop,
● a barcode scanner with keyboard emulation connected to a tablet or PC.
The system is very scalable. The user decides which tools they need to use and which codes they want to enter manually.
Once the goods have been received, pallet labels are generated indicating quantity, item description, etc.
A barcode will also be generated with the MU number which can be read from the operator’s terminal detailing all operations relating to raw materials, including: incoming pallet approval, movement within the warehouse, withdrawal of materials for production, unloading of consumed material on board the machine.
Similarly, pallets with the finished product are labelled and stored in the warehouse.

PACKWAY
Shipping
During the shipping phase, a shipping list is prepared containing one or more delivery notes for the orders to be shipped. It’s thus possible to provide warehouse staff with a list of materials to be prepared for a shipment. Once pallets due to be shipped for each delivery note have been read, you can print out the final delivery notes and the packing lists containing details of each pallet to be shipped.
With Packway integrated with MES and logistics you can view which orders are completed and assigned for shipment.
It’s the operator’s task to create a single delivery note or prepare separate shipping lists.
Each shipping list contains a series of jobs that can be shipped via a single carrier with different delivery notes.
